
Christmas Cake - German Marzipan Stollen
Our Kuchenmeister Marzipan Stollen is a rich yeast cake with a generous quantity of raisins and candied orange and lemon peels with a sweet almond marzipan filling and baked in Germany especially for Christmas. This stollen is a Christmas morning tradition served warm with butter and European style coffee. The 26 ounce stollen serves 10-12 and will keep for six months in a cool dry place if tightly wrapped, longer if frozen (do not refrigerate).
German pastries, such as stollen are drier and less sweet than American style cakes. To make your stollen moister simply toast lightly and spread with soft butter. For a little extra sweetness, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
